The Hudson Valley offers easy access to the Catskill Mountains, as well as numerous water activities on the Hudson River and its tributaries. The Valley is filled with wonderful towns and villages that offer endless adventures and discovery. Local gems such as Hudson, Rhinebeck, Tivoli, Red Hook, Kingston, Woodstock, and Saugerties are all a short drive from Germantown. Our Inn is located on the Empire State Trail between Hudson and Rhinebeck, a cycling enthusiasts’ destination for biking trails in the state of New York.

Canoeing, tubing, and kayaking on the Hudson River is an unforgettable experience that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. The Hudson River boasts a diverse range of wildlife, making it an ideal location for bird watching and fishing. With rental shops and tour operators available along the river, you can easily access the gear and guidance you need to embark on your adventure.

While visiting Germantown you can expect to be treated to an authentic slice of small-town charm and a variety of unique experiences. Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley our town is a quaint village with a rich history and picturesque architecture that dates to the 18th century. Alexander Gray Associates, Michael Robbins artisan furniture showroom, Mother-In-Law’s. Nearby Olana State Historic Site is a museum and landscape 10 minutes from town. Just down route-9G a few miles you will find the town of Tivoli where you can explore Kaatsban Cultural Park. Onto Annandale-On-Hudson, home of Bard College. Check out  Fisher Center for the Arts, The Hessel Museum of Art, and Spiegeltent at Bard for world class live music, casual nature walks, curated events, and art. Don’t forget nearby Hudson, a small yet cosmopolitan city with a beautiful Opera House for live events and theater.

Take a stroll down Main Street in Germantown and discover our unique specialty shops.  Alder & Co is a vestige of the way shops used to be – an unhurried space to gather, an invitation to take your time. Germantown Laundromat is a unique community space selling sustainable household & garden essentials, as well as gifts but also serving as a 24-hour green laundromat. Mary MacGill is a bespoke jewelry maker, designer, and artist that runs a lovely, curated shop right in town. Quittner Warehouse offers antique and locally made furniture, lighting, and homewares along with their own lighting collection. Michael Robbins has a showroom in Germantown showcasing his exceptional collection of fine handmade furniture. Luddite Antiques is an eclectic antique furniture shop with a focus on lighting. Athabold Flowers, a floral design studio, specializes in events and keeps a beautifully appointed village shop.
